Anthem Neighborhood Information
The 4,755 acre Anthem master plan was developed by Del Webb Corporation in the late 1990s. Del Webb was so eager to get the project started, that they took over the construction and widening of Eastern Avenue from the city of Henderson in order to access the site. Del Webb was also the main builder in the development, along with Pulte Homes and Richmond American Homes.
Construction of Anthem Country Club, Anthem Coventry and Anthem Sun City all began in 1998, with Solera and Anthem Highlands following behind in early 2000. View the Anthem Homes Virtual Tour. Neighborhood fitness and community involvement are the true highlights of this area. All of the communities except Anthem Highlands boast their own state of the art clubhouses and host a huge variety of social events.
Sun City Anthem actually has three community centers with over 130,000 square feet of indoor amenities including a full scale woodworking shop in addition to tennis courts, horseshoe pits, bocce ball courts and outdoor pools and spas. The activities director has a busy time supervising more than 50 clubs and special interest groups. Solera has its own smaller version of the Sun City amenities, activities, clubs and events as well.
Anthem Country Club has a gourmet dining room and pro shop in addition to its resort style pool area, stadium quality tennis courts and fitness center. This family oriented community is particularly renowned for its annual community events including a big Easter bash, Santa arriving by helicopter at Christmas, Dive in Movies on hot summer nights, and the men’s favorite, the Father’s Day Car Show.
Because of its high elevation, Anthem is known for its winding streets and terrific views. The centerpiece of Anthem community sporting activities is the 53 acre Anthem Hills Park. In addition to lighted baseball fields, soccer, volleyball courts, basketball courts, playgrounds, barbecues and covered picnic areas, Anthem Hills Park features roller hockey and a lighted skate park for future Tony Hawks. Numerous special events are held annually each year in the park, including the “Slide into Summer” with its gigantic slip and slide, and a New Year’s Eve celebration particularly suitable for small children.
There are three fabulous golf courses in the Anthem master plan, a private championship Hale Irwin/Keith Foster course in Anthem Country Club and The Revere Golf Club in Sun City Anthem with its two public courses, Concord and Lexington. All three courses offer sensational panoramas of the Valley floor below, as well as challenging course layouts and target greens.
Anthem residents are able to take advantage of a variety of entertainment, fine restaurants, a casino and great shopping nearby in the District at Green Valley Ranch.
